You didn’t sleep well. You pick up your phone and grumble about an email. How often do days start like this? Before offering a thought of praise or thanks to God, frustration sets in over everything going wrong. The apostle Peter reminds us not to forget what a day for the Lord is like: “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” (2 Peter 3:8). While we get consumed by daily struggles, God sees our whole lifetime and 14 generations before us as just a single day. We expect life to be perfect, yet God has created us for an eternal future with Him. The only reason for delay is His desire for as many as possible to be part of this incredible future. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). And to those who seek Him, He gives this promise: “But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:13). A world filled with His glorious presence forever. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/2Pe3v8, https://bit.ly/2pe3v9, http://bit.ly/2Pe3v13 (Nicky B)
