Are You Prayer Shy?

Sometimes I experience something that I'm going to coin being 'Prayer Shy'. It happens when I feel I haven't connected enough recently with God, so like a son who thinks he's in trouble with his dad I distance myself and don't pray as regularly as I know I should. It's because I feel guilty that I haven't played my part in the best two way relationship I could ever experience. Perhaps at some point in your life you've experienced this as well? To combat this feeling from turning into a long term disconnect I now keep 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 in mind which states: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) These verses remind me to pray in all circumstances, and not just when I feel like something has happened that is worth praying for. No matter what's happening there's always a reason to rejoice, to give thanks or to lean on God. If you ever feel that disconnect, remember that God wants us to speak to him in all moments, no matter what. (Jean-Luc H). Open Bible – bit.ly/1th5v16-18
