We all have pet peeves—those little things that drive us crazy. One of mine is sitting in traffic at roadworks. It feels tedious, even though I know they’re for the greater good. There’s something frustrating about sitting still, knowing I could reach my destination faster if not for the roadworks. Yet, even in moments of irritation, scripture has lessons to teach us. Proverbs 15:18 says, “Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.” This message of patience struck me as I sat there, feeling my temper rise. I realized I was letting something as minor as a delay rob me of my peace. This verse is a reminder for any situation that tests our patience or makes us irritable. God calls us to practice patience and trust His plan for every moment of our lives. By doing so, we can achieve true peace, no matter what frustrations come our way. Let’s not let the small inconveniences of the day steal our calm. Instead, let’s remember that patience brings peace, and God’s timing is always perfect.
