My wife and I enjoy “heaven and earth” walks. On these walks, we do our best to allow the natural world around us to activate new spiritual insights and experiences. “Look at all the leaves around us, from so many different plants, they all end in a point”, my good wife wisely observed. “Life is not a random pointless endeavour. The leaves are telling us that there is a point.” And the point is where the growth happens. The plant grows to its point and from its point. God has designed us all with an awesome purpose. All creation has a point, and so do you. “They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:8). If each day we refocus our attention on the divine point and move towards it, then we will grow from it. May you focus on your point of growth today even as the leaves whisper eternal wisdom in the wind. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Jer17v8 (Matthew B)
