It was the 81km mark in the Comrades marathon with 8km to go. My energy was completely depleted. I had last seen my husband over 8 hours ago when I encouraged him to run ahead, as I wasn’t feeling good. I was planning to stop at halfway, but friends encouraged me to keep going. I remembered the verse in Isaiah, “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:30-31). I gave UP and surrendered to God to carry me to the end. Immediately a surge of energy filled me. I was in absolute awe. I ran. I was not tired. With 3km to go, I spotted my husband and ran and told him this was a gift from God – being given the energy to finish the race with him, filled with God’s strength. As we ran into the city, we both saw a banner hanging outside a shop. It read, ”Gift from God”. We crossed the finish line hand in hand. God made the impossible possible. If you are tired, stumbling, at the end of your strength, give UP to God and let him lift you up on eagle’s wings! 🌱 Open Bible –https://bit.ly/isa40v30-31
