One Turn Changed Everything

Yesterday my wife, daughter, and I headed out for a 15km run – part of our marathon taper, so shorter than previous weeks. We planned our normal route, but passing the beach we spotted a sign for a secret swim event and ran down to look. The tide was way out and the beach was stunning, so we ran along it. Reaching the end, we rounded the corner to the next beach, then the next, until we finished a breathtaking coastal run we had never done before – all from one unexpected decision. Life can be like that. We have our route planned, but an opportunity arises we never intended to take, we decide to have a look, and suddenly our life is on a totally different – and beautiful – path. Finding that unexpected turn may not happen often, yet it is an offer God holds out to every one of us. He offers to lead us on His path, one that, if we choose it, will change our lives forever. David put it beautifully: "He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake." (Psalms 23:3) Will you open your heart today to God's guidance? (Craig B).
