What are you really chasing? Most of us spend our lives in pursuit of happiness — health, prosperity, honour, love — only to find it slipping further away the harder we run. King Solomon knew this feeling better than anyone. He had amassed unimaginable wealth, hundreds of wives, palaces, vineyards, and every pleasure a human heart could imagine, yet near the end of his life he looked at it all and declared, "Meaningless! Meaningless! Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." (Ecclesiastes 1:2). The chase had left him empty. Yet Solomon, in his wisdom, discovered the secret and wrote it down: "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." (Proverbs 21:21). The key is not to stop pursuing altogether — we need direction and purpose — but to redirect the pursuit entirely. Jesus made this crystal clear: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33). Stop chasing the blessing and start chasing the One who gives it. Pursue God's loving kindness and Jesus our righteousness, and the things your heart truly longs for will follow. The Psalmist confirms it beautifully: "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalms 37:4). This morning, before you check your phone, lift your eyes to God. Pursue the Head, not the tail, and watch true happiness follow. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Ecc1v2, bit.ly/Pro21v21, bit.ly/mat6v33, bit.ly/Psa37v4
