Wrapped in kindness

Wrapped in kindness

Our dogs hate eating pills, so when we have to give them medicine, it is a real challenge. The only way we can get them to take it is to wrap it in something tasty. Hidden in a piece of chicken, the pill is eaten unnoticed. The idea of wrapping something that might seem distasteful, even though it is important, in something pleasant applies to many things in life. Nothing is more important than sharing the gospel. The gospel message is the ultimate “pill.” It is the cure to the ultimate issue—sin and death. “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). However, sadly, many balk at the idea of listening to the good news of Jesus. It could be because of bad experiences with those who call themselves Christians, a mistrust of anything that sounds too good, or a fear of having to submit to divine power. Yet, there is still a way to share this life-saving message—wrapped in kindness and good deeds. “Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world” (1 Peter 2:12). How will you wrap God’s saving message today? (Craig B) Open Bible – bit.ly/1Pe2v12
