I recently saw an Instagram post about a large Christmas tree in Australia. Every year, it displays “Merry Christmas”, but this year, it had been changed to “Happy Holidays.” It may seem small, but as Christians, it reflects something deeper. Jesus warned that a time would come when people would no longer want to acknowledge His name or recognise Him for who He is. Even at Christmas, a time to celebrate His birth, His name is slowly being removed. But Scripture reminds us: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11). Christmas is not just a tradition or a season. It’s about Jesus Christ. The world may try to change the language or meaning, but the truth doesn’t change. Christ is, and always will be, the reason for CHRISTmas. This season, take time to reflect on His birth and all He has brought into your life. And let it remind you to share the true meaning of Christmas with those around you. (Hannah H)
