While walking down wooden stairs to the beach, carrying a soon-to-be-enjoyed coffee, I noticed the sand made the steps look slippery. I warned my wife, “Be careful, the stairs are slippery.” She walked cautiously but thought the last step looked fine – and in an instant, she slipped, and the beach sand drank her coffee instead. It made me think of how God warns us about our walk toward His Kingdom. “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways” (Proverbs 4:26-27). Yet even when we think we’re on firm ground, we can lose our footing before we realise it. God wants to steady us daily – not only when we’re weak, but even when we think we’re strong. “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” (1 Corinthians 10:12). Whatever you face today, ask God to guide your steps and keep you walking securely in His way. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Pro4v26-27, https://bit.ly/1Co10v12
