The first time Moses received the Ten Commandments, God provided the stone tablets and wrote on them Himself (Exodus 31:18). But when Moses saw the people’s wickedness, he smashed them – they couldn’t yet receive something so holy. The second time, Moses had to bring two blank stone tablets, and God wrote on these (Exodus 34:1). This time, the people followed, at least for a while. There’s an important lesson in this. God desires to write His law of life on our hearts, but we must first bring Him hearts that are empty and willing to receive. “I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people” (Hebrews 8:10). God wants to write His divine story in our lives, but He won’t force it. We must come before Him with surrendered hearts and let Him write His eternal story within us. “You show that you are a letter from Christ, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts” (2 Corinthians 3:3). Are you prepared for God to write His story in your life? (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Exo31v18, https://bit.ly/exo34v1-7, https://bit.ly/Heb8v10, https://bit.ly/2Co3v3
