Apple used to have an advert that said, “Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently…You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward…Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” When we hear crazy people and their crazy ideas we are often shocked and run the other way. When Jesus spoke, the people said, “He’s crazy, a maniac– out of his head completely.” (John 10:20). What had he said that caused such a response? He had promised an abundant, overflowing life – “I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly” (Jn 10:10). He had promised care despite the cost – “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11). And, despite what people said, he did change the world – more than any other person ever! Jesus is offering you his crazy offer – a life changed, a life guided, a life protected, a life like none other. Are you crazy enough to accept his offer? “If I acted crazy, I did it for God” (2 Corinthians 5:13).
That’s Crazy!
