When Blessings Become the Danger

When Blessings Become the Danger

One of the profound truths of the Christian life is that while trials are painful, they are often when we experience the closest fellowship with God. In our weakness, we lean on Him. In our need, we seek Him. Yet when life is comfortable and prosperous, our hearts can slowly drift from the One who blessed us. This was the warning God gave Israel before they entered the Promised Land. He desired to bless His people with abundance, security, and rest – yet He knew the danger that prosperity would bring. Moses warned them, "Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 8:11) Fine houses, growing wealth, and increasing success could easily lead to pride and spiritual forgetfulness. The same danger confronts us today. When our careers flourish, our finances grow, and our lives become comfortable, we can begin to believe our achievements are the result of our own strength and wisdom. Yet Scripture reminds us, "It is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth." (Deuteronomy 8:18) Israel's history teaches us that pride leads us away from God, while humility keeps us near Him. Every good gift, every success, and every opportunity comes from our Heavenly Father. Let us cultivate grateful hearts, giving Him the glory each day and remaining close to the One from whom all blessings flow. (Nicky B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Deu8v11, bit.ly/Deu8v18
