Recently, I was standing at the checkout waiting to pay. I noticed a stark difference between what was in people’s baskets. One had fruit, vegetables, and whole-grain bread, while another had sodas, white bread and doughnuts. While we are all drawn to unhealthy foods, the science is clear – what we consume hugely impacts our physical health. However, many of us continue to eat unhealthy foods despite the consequences. The same applies to our mental diet. What do we fill our mental baskets with? Gossip, social media, and TV, or good thoughts, God’s Word, and prayer? The science is clear – what we consume hugely impacts our mental health. But it’s not just science. God told us this years ago. “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (Philippians 4:8). And the impact? “Then the God of peace will be with you” (v9). It’s not just mental health we receive; it’s the promise of God’s divine peace and presence. What will you fill your mind with today? Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Phi4v8
