We were enjoying a run and decided to finish the last kilometre on the beach along the shoreline. Immediately the run felt impossible. The sand was soft and it was difficult to get a foothold. I felt like giving up. My son recommended I run in his footsteps. Immediately I had a grip. He was doing all the hard work. However, if I ran too slowly his footsteps would disappear as the waves washed them away. It was such a powerful spiritual lesson to me. Life without Jesus can often be hard going and tiring like running in soft sand. When we stop following we often lose our way and life becomes difficult. God wants to lead us in the best pathway for our life. We read in Psalms: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8). Jesus calls us to run the race of life following in His footsteps. He has already done all the hard work for us. He tells us when we come to him he will give us rest. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). Let’s stay in step with Jesus and experience the life of rest and peace Jesus wants to share with all who come to him. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Psa32v8, http://bit.ly/Mat11v30 (Nicky B)
