Truth Has Vanished – Now What?

Truth Has Vanished – Now What?

We can learn valuable lessons from Israel when considering our own walk with God. When He brought Israel out of Egypt, His greatest desire was not sacrifices but that they know Him and walk in obedience. He said, "Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you" (Jeremiah 7:23). Yet the people "did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts" (Jeremiah 7:24). Still God did not give up – day after day He sent His prophets, yet they "did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their ancestors" (Jeremiah 7:25-26). Jeremiah's heartbreaking conclusion: "Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips" (Jeremiah 7:28). How relevant these words are today. We too can attend religious services while pursuing our own desires, giving more time to entertainment and social media than to cultivating a relationship with our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus – slowly drifting away. Yet through Jesus Christ, God gives us His Holy Spirit to transform our hearts. "I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds" (Hebrews 10:16). His deepest desire is a heart that knows Him, trusts Him, and walks faithfully in His ways. (Nicky B). Open Bible – bit.ly/Jer7v23, bit.ly/Jer7v24, bit.ly/Jer7v25-26, bit.ly/Jer7v28, bit.ly/Heb10v16
