Tithing your life

Tithing your life

“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?” In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse —your whole nation—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:8-10). I thought tithing was something for the Jewish nation, the greater Christian principle is giving our whole life. Great, so how about if I start by giving 10% of my income before any expenses to God rather than only a portion of what is left after monthly expenses? Would this not show God I trusted Him completely with my finances? Or what if I woke up every morning and committed my first 30-60 minutes to God rather than only if I had time after a busy day? Would this not show I trusted him completely? Who do I really trust? My resources or God? God is asking us to test him. Give him the whole tithe, and he promises to open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Mal3v8-10 (Nicky B)
