The way that is not a detour

The way that is not a detour

Music has a way to our hearts. In 1968, Dionne Warwick’s song “Do you know the way to San Jose?” sold millions of copies because it touched the longing of so many people to rediscover true peace of mind when their career dreams had finally turned to dust. Her words express the sadness of choosing ways in life that turn out to be empty detours. You might know some of those ways well. Thomas was one of Jesus’ disciples who asked him, “How can we know the way?” I would suggest Thomas did not want any more detours. Then Jesus gave an incredible answer. It was not about maps or destinations. Jesus said, “I am the WAY…” (John 14:6), the way to God was through him, a person. When we are finished with our dusty detours, our longing can open up new music for our hearts. We need to hear the song of God. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh14v6 (Geoff W.)
