God’s Word is living and like anything living it changes revealing new things to us all the time. Today I experienced this reading Titus 2:11-14, which I have read many times. “(11) For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. (12) It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (13) while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, (14) who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” Today God taught me that his grace is for all people (v11). But how does God’s grace work? (v12) God’s grace is not a ticket for me to live life my way and rest on God’s forgiveness. Rather, God’s grace is a teacher that teaches me to say “No” and live a self controlled, upright and godly life. But, how is this possible (v13-14)Through God’s gift of Jesus as my teacher. He guides me each day, filling me with spiritual gifts of love, wisdom, self control and peace. He gave himself for me so he could redeem me from an empty life and make me into someone who is eager to do good every day of my life. Today open your heart to Jesus as your teacher and redeemer and experience the grace teacher.
