Imagine one day you received an invitation. It reads: “You are invited to God’s Home”. Unbelievable! What an honour. But at the bottom is a list of the conditions to attend. You scan the requirements. “People who don’t accept bribes. People who reject flagrant sin”. No problem. “Those who speak the truth” Mostly fine. “People who keep their promises”. That’s OK. But then you see it: “Those who refuse to gossip… or speak evil of their friends.” What? That’s on the list? What’s so bad about a bit of gossip or saying something unkind behind someone’s back? Apparently, God takes it seriously. So seriously that the psalmist includes it alongside bribes and injustice when listing the requirements to enter God’s presence, “Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?… Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbours or speak evil of their friends.” (Psalm 15:1, 3). Today, consider carefully what you say. The words you choose may reveal more about your heart than you think. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Psa15v1-3
