The bright morning star

The bright morning star

The final words Jesus speaks before His promise, “Yes, I am coming soon” (Revelation 22:20), are striking: “I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star” (Revelation 22:16). They are fitting final words because they point both backward and forward, to the root and the fruit, the beginning and the end. This title stretches our understanding. How can someone be both the source and the result? Yet Jesus has already framed it for us: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 22:13). He redeems our past and secures our future. He chose us before we were born, and He stands ready to welcome us into His Kingdom. Nothing in our lives sits outside His reach. Then Jesus adds one final image, the bright Morning Star. Not just light, but the light that appears after the longest night. The star that announces a new day. Whatever darkness we have known, Jesus leaves us with hope. He is the light that overcomes despair and death. Your story is not drifting; it has roots in Christ. Your hope is not uncertain; it is anchored in Him. When life feels unstable, Jesus is the Root. When life feels dark, He is the Morning Star. What part of your past, present, or future do you need to place into His care today? (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/rev22v20, https://bit.ly/Rev22v13-16
