Science’s Late Discovery

Science’s Late Discovery

Oxford mathematician John Lennox describes our universe as a "word-based universe." He points out that its workings can be described through mathematics, which he calls "the most precise language we've got." Then we turn to biology and find "at the heart of every living cell, the longest word we've ever found, the genetic code….We live in a word-based universe." It is amazing that this order underpinning everything can be described in numbers and words – but even more amazing that when we turn to the Bible, creation begins with words. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. … And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." (Genesis 1:1,3). Seven times God speaks and the universe comes into existence. John picks up on this: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind." (John 1:1-4). Everything from the distant stars to you is the result of divine Words. Science is only seeing this now, but God told us thousands of years ago: "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth." (Psalms 33:6). How awesome is God’s Word. (Craig B). Open Bible – bit.ly/gen1v1, bit.ly/Joh1v1-4, bit.ly/Psa33v6
