Crying out

Crying out

While travelling through Turkey, there is one thing you can’t miss. Every day, a loud call is broadcasted across the city five times throughout the day. It serves as a reminder for everyone to engage in prayer. It started as early as 3:30 am, which caused me to wake up a few times. It may be easy to see the negatives in getting woken up early in the morning by a loud prayer. However, It made me reflect on how often God invites us to “call” or “cry” out to Him. The words “call” and “cry out” imply raising your voice, suggesting that these actions are far from silent. Yet, how often do we only communicate with God in silence? God declares, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13) and “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles” (Psalm 34:17). God is offering a solution to all our troubles if we just call out to him. So, the next time you pray or have a conversation with God, try speaking aloud and open yourself to a new experience and relationship with God.
