Stuck in the mud

Stuck in the mud

Recently we had crazy amounts of rain fall that caused all sorts of havoc. This resulted in me having to pull out several cars which had gotten mired in thick mud. Having made the mistake before and seeing others make the mistake too, I have learned something vital. It doesn’t matter how powerful your vehicle is; if you attempt to pull out a vehicle stuck in the mud without your car being on firm ground, you too, will need to be rescued. It’s vital to find solid ground, then attach the tow rope, and then recovery is possible. We live in a world filled with storms which means often we need to be rescued. And when we call, God hears us. “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” (Psalms 40:2). Our rock rescues us and then places us in a firm place. Standing on this solid place, when we encounter those who need help, we too can reach out and help them. We can only help others if God has become our rock. And so let us pray as the Psalmist did – “From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalms 61:2). Please, Lord, lead me to the rock higher than I so I can help those in need around me. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/psa61v2, https://bit.ly/psa40v2
