There’s nothing nicer after a long and tiring day than to finally get into bed. Especially on those days when you have been on your feet all day, and by the end you are physically and mentally exhausted. The weight is literally removed, and beautiful rest can be enjoyed. Although, it’s now that I can’t relax. I’m worried the bed won’t hold me. I try and put as little pressure on it as possible. I attempt to lift my body and hold it rigid. I know this doesn’t really make a difference, but I can’t help it. By now, you must be thinking I’m surely crazy. And you would be right, as a bed is designed to support you, and attempting to support myself rather than enjoying sleep is crazy. Yet this is what we often do with God. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). But we refuse to trust him. We don’t believe his offer. We won’t abandon all our efforts and relax into the rest he gives. God is our rest. It’s crazy attempting to carry our own burdens when God has promised to be our rest. Rather believe and receive God’s incredible divine rest. “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.” (Psalms 3:5-6). Sleep well 😴 Open Bible – http://bit.ly/psa3v5-6, https://bit.ly/mat11v28-30, https://bit.ly/Share2Friends
