Dating God

Dating God

A popular relationship advice phrase is: “Never stop dating your partner”. This points to the importance of purposefully taking time out of our busy lives to spend as much quality time with our partners as possible. Doing this will help build a stronger and more meaningful relationship. It made me think about how often we apply this to our relationship with God – our most important relationship. How often do we set aside special time to talk to and learn about God? Not just together at church or bible class but by ourselves – one-on-one with God. While learning more about God in a group setting is essential, this doesn’t necessarily improve your personal relationship with him. In Proverbs 8:17, we read – “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” This is your reminder to set aside special time out of your day today to seek God, even if it’s with your morning coffee. Sit down, open your Bible, read about Him, talk to Him, and watch your relationship flourish. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Pro8v17, http://bit.ly/READMore_ (Hannah B)
