Pure…What word would you put next? Google suggests things like “pure water” and “pure soap”. But in Proverbs 30:5 we find something purer than these – “Every word of God is pure;” (Proverbs 30:5). Pure Word. In a world filled with lies and deception, there’s no surprise Google doesn’t suggest this. To help us understand what pure word means the proverb continues, “He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Pure means no impurities, like clean drinking water that is free of contaminants and safe to drink. God’s words are so pure we can rely on them to protect us from everything impure or hurtful this world can throw at us. Nothing can contaminate its power. We are invited to drink deeply of the purest water possible. To wash ourselves with the purest soap imaginable. And in so doing we will experience the power of God’s pure word. A power to protect and restore. A power to revive and clean. A power to transform even that which decays and dies into that which lasts forever. Trust God’s Word. Commit to filling your life, every day this year with his pure Word, and experience understanding, joy, peace, healing, and forgiveness in the purest form. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/pro30v5
