Illusive Happiness

Illusive Happiness

Marilyn Monroe committed suicide at age 36. Michael Jackson died of a drug overdose at age 50. Whitney Houston drowned in a bathtub while intoxicated at age 48. These were world-famous movie and pop stars who had all the wealth and fame one could ever desire, yet they were so unhappy that they sadly took their own lives. Yet, despite this, every day billions seek riches, pleasure and fame as their path to joy over a relationship with God. The wise writer of Proverbs, Solomon, who incidentally had already tried this route of fame and money, wrote – “True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” (Proverbs 22:4-6). All the things we are seeking – riches, honour, and long life – God wants to give to those who in humility, seek to know and obey Him. If we seek God, he will give us riches, honour and long life greater than we imagined. The richness of a life filled with abundant love, peace, joy, friendship, food and protection. The honor of being loved and treasured by people who really matter – your Heavenly Father, family and friends. A long life that will last forever. God created us. He understands us. He wants to give you your innermost desires, even if you don’t know what they really are yet. Turn your heart to God so you can experience a life filled with God’s riches, honour and life.
