What do you need?

What do you need?

“What do you need? Anything, just let me know.” These are such comforting words to hear from a friend. But, sometimes, what we need is beyond what our friends can offer. However, what if the offer is made by someone who can meet all your needs? “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). What an incredible promise. But look at the details of this promise – “according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus”. God’s provision for us is not limited by our circumstances but by his infinite wealth and glory. God’s provision for us is not just about meeting our physical needs but also reflects his character – merciful, gracious, patient, abounding in kindness and truth (Exodus 33:18, 34:5-7). God promises to be, as Abraham called him thousands of years earlier – Jehovah Jireh – “The Lord will provide”. Pray the words of this popular song over your needs – “Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Jireh, My provider, His grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me — Jehovah Jireh, My provider, His grace is sufficient for me — My God shall supply all my needs, According to His riches in glory, He will give His angels charge over me, Jehovah Jireh cares for me, for me, for me, Jehovah Jireh cares for me”.
