What makes us acceptable in the eyes of God? The apostle Paul thought he had ticked every box. “I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel…a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. I was so zealous…I obeyed the law without fault.” (Philippians 3:5-6). Does this sound similar to our list? “Baptized when I was 16. A fourth-generation Christian. An important member of our church. Involved in outreach work every week. Diligent follower of all God’s commands. No association with sinful people.” Or maybe it’s the absence of this list in our life that makes us think we can never be acceptable in the eyes of God. However, Paul continues by saying, “I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8). His list of accomplishments is worthless because of what Christ has done. We don’t become right with God through our own righteous deeds and standing. We become right with God by putting our faith in Jesus and allowing him to work powerfully in our life. What you do counts nothing compared to who you know. And knowing Jesus makes us righteous not because of what we have done but because of what God does for us (Philippians 3:9). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/PHI3v4-9, 👉http://bit.ly/CLICK_2_SHARE
