Our deepest need

Our deepest need

Everyone has an inherent need to belong. Studies show that feeling isolated triggers the same areas in the brain as physical pain and increases the risk of premature death by 30%. This longing isn’t random—it’s written into our very being by God, who created us to know Him. “Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (Psalm 100:3). We belong to Him. The rest, purpose, and fulfillment we seek can only be found in His presence. Psalm 100 reminds us to shout for joy, give thanks, and praise His name because of this truth. Expressing gratitude often helps us see the incredible gifts we’ve already received. And what a profound gift it is that the God who formed the universe has already met our deepest need. This belonging doesn’t just add years to our lives—it grants us eternity in His presence.
