Joh 14v6 – What is Truth?

Joh 14v6 – What is Truth?

What is truth? This is a question our very confused world struggles to answer. Rather than seek truth, most simply define their own version of truth and error. When the serpent tempted Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, it said, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5). This is the world we live in today. Most want to be gods of their own truth, deciding for themselves what is good and evil. The result is a world full of hatred, division, pride, and corruption. A world that worships self and denies the existence of God. The question should not be, “What is truth?” but rather, “Who is truth?”. When Thomas asked Jesus about the way, Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Truth does not come from our own knowledge; it comes from knowing Jesus. Jesus fills us with God’s wisdom so we can know the difference between good and evil. As Jesus stood on trial, Pilate said, “You are a king, then!” and Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37). Listen to Jesus, and you will find truth, and with that, the way to life eternal.
