We love to walk. If there is any way we can walk to the shops or any other place, we choose to walk rather than drive, even if that means carrying heavy shopping bags all the way home. There is something special about walking. The saying, “Life is a journey, not a destination” captures the sentiment. So much happens and is seen on the journey, and too often in our busy lives, we miss out thinking only about the destination. One of the most well-known sayings of Jesus is, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). While God’s kingdom, the destination is our ultimate goal, our life is spent on the journey, in the way. The early church was even called The Way (Acts 9:2). It’s along the way that not only do we experience life, but we have Jesus to show us life from his perspective. Sometimes it may be difficult as we carry life’s heavy load, but with Jesus, our perspective can change. Where others see storms, let him help us see peace. Where others see pain, let him help us see joy. Where others see love only at the end, let us see love all along the way. Walk today with Jesus.
