Nothing’s changed

Nothing’s changed

We were hiking up a mountain; however, I had chosen the wrong hiking socks, and one kept slipping down. I kept stopping to pull it up, but a few minutes later, it would slip down again. Eventually, I decided to try something different, so I turned the sock around with the heal portion on top. For the remainder of the hike, my sock did not slip down. How often in life, when things are going wrong, do we try to solve our problems the same way – over and over again – to no avail? However, nothing changes if nothing changes. “Can an Ethiopian change his skin or a leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.” (Jeremiah 13:23). You remain what you are as long as you remain what you are. We can’t change our human weaknesses. We can’t remove our sinful nature. Continuing to try won’t change the result. Instead, let God be the change. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord“ (Acts 3:19). Let the Spirit transform you. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). Today instead of trying harder to change your problems, try something new. Try Jesus. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/jer13v23, http://bit.ly/act3v19, http://bit.ly/2co3v17-18
