He’s here

He’s here

“One day Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let us go over to the other side of the lake.’ So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, ‘Master, Master, we’re going to drown!’ He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. ‘Where is your faith?’ he asked his disciples” (Luke 8:22–25). While this story should leave us in awe of Jesus’ power, it’s His question that matters most. “Where’s your faith?” Jesus had set their mission – to cross the lake. He was in the boat, but asleep. Yet even in the storm, He expected them to trust, not panic. If Jesus sets our course and travels with us, then even when the storms hit, even when He feels absent, we must have faith – because He is always in control. Whatever your storm, Jesus’ silence is not absence. It’s a test of faith. “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
