Today, our country has its National Elections. Political candidates’ posters are on all the street poles. Parties have been sharing their political manifestos in the media. There are many promises of a better life if you vote for them. Sadly, most will be unfulfilled. This is such a contrast to God, who promises His word “shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11). Here are some assurances from God’s Word in Psalm 145, for those who put their trust in the LORD. “The LORD helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it. When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him, he hears their cries for help and rescues them.” (Psalms 145:14-20) God’s promise is a life of eternity – a life abundantly more than you can think or imagine, for those who choose to cast their vote and put their trust in Him.
