God comes first

God comes first

Priorities in life are an important guide to pursue what is truly important. In my job I coach executives to help find them employment and plan out the next stages of their career paths. My candidates usually want to complete the program as quickly as possible as finding a job is often a stressful and urgent task to continue to make ends meet. With this in mind, dedicated candidates often never cancel sessions, which is why this past week I was surprised to find one of my most ambitious candidates reschedule our meeting. Her reasoning was that she had an important church service to attend during the week that she didn’t want to miss. This action reminded me of Proverbs 3:5-6 which states, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.” For this candidate, she knew that spending time with her God was more valuable to her future than the session at hand. It isn’t often my candidates teach me, but this was another reminder of how important it is to make God a priority of every day of our lives. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Pro3v5-6 (Jean-Luc H)
