If there is one thing that is really frustrating it’s the small, innocent-looking, seemingly helpless single sock. I’m sure you know the feeling. When you bought the socks they came in a pair and then all of a sudden one day there is only one. Maybe there is an alien planet, Socktopia where all single socks live with wry smiles of victory. In an attempt to fight back, I have a bag of single socks hoping to one day reunite them with their lost mates. Recently I was considering throwing away the solo socks thinking it a waste keeping them. However, my wife encouraged me to look again. Amazingly a whole lot of matches were made and there was much singing and dancing as socks were reunited. It made me realise how grateful I am that God is far more patient with us when we are lost. Jesus told a story about how a shepherd who had 100 sheep, will go out and search for a single lost one. He concludes by saying “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish” (Matthew 18:14). Take comfort, in the promise that no matter how far you might stray, or how far you feel from God, “I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak.” (Ezekiel 34:16). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Eze34v16, http://bit.ly/Mat18v14, http://bit.ly/READMore_
