Drawn together by love

Drawn together by love

Recently, after the passing of our dad, we all came together from across the country. Within 12 hours, family travelled thousands of kilometres to be in one place. It was a sad but special time. We gathered to remember and celebrate a life lived. To comfort one another. To share his love. One man, in his death, had drawn us all together—and what a beautiful comfort it was. It reminded me of a far greater man, Jesus, who said, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die (John 12:32-33). In his death, Jesus draws all people, across time and place, into a single family. He invites us to come celebrate his life and love. To receive comfort. To find rest. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). What an invitation. What a hope. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/John12v32-33 (Craig B).
