I’m an activity-driven person, whether it’s physical like running and hiking or mental like writing and thinking. I believe so strongly in the power of activity that I developed an entire teaching approach called Active Connected Teaching (ACT). People say knowledge is power, but knowledge is just potential power—real power comes from energy because it leads to action and results. Nowhere is this more true than in teaching and learning. However, we can mistakenly think that activity is also what God wants most from us—that our works will save us. While He calls us to care for others, worship, and serve, what He truly desires is our presence. In a striking gospel scene, Martha is busy preparing a meal for Jesus and His guests, while her sister Mary simply sits at His feet, listening. When Martha complains, Jesus replies, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42). While works and activity are important, spending time with Jesus matters more. Today, take a moment to be still with Him—it’s the better thing. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Luk10v41-42 (Craig B)
