Divine joy

Divine joy

Joy. It’s such a powerful and wonderfully uplifting emotion. Many things can fill us with joy- special time with friends or family, a beautiful place, completing something, or winning. Yet Scripture describes a joy that surpasses all of these – a joy that Jesus Himself experienced: “At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit” (Luke 10:21). This is joy of the Holy Spirit. What caused it? Jesus says, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.” (Luke 10:21). The seventy-two had just returned from their mission, amazed at the power of God working through them, ordinary people with ordinary weaknesses. And then the joy comes. It’s the joy of watching the Father’s way unfold exactly as intended. What seems hidden or unclear to others is fully visible to Jesus. God reveals His kingdom not to the clever or elite, but to the humble, the small, and the teachable. Jesus delights in this upside-down beauty because it reveals the generous, unexpected heart of God. This is divine joy. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Luk19v21
