Chasing the dream

Chasing the dream

After watching a Netflix series called Dream Girls, I was struck by what the world offers, no matter how bright or alluring, can never give true purpose or identity. The show follows young women striving to become Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders – making huge sacrifices and training intensely for the dream of being chosen. Yet even those who made the team and lived the dream for years still felt empty and lacked identity. What they gave their lives to couldn’t truly fulfil them; it was fleeting and faded. It reminded me of God’s truth: anything we idolise – anything made by human hands – can never give lasting purpose. We were created for one reason: to be children of God and to reveal His image and glory through Jesus. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all…are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). When we live for Him, we experience a life of lasting fulfilment and find our everlasting purpose and true identity. (Nicky B). Open Bible – https://bit.ly/2co3v17-18
