Most people think super powers belong in comic books or movies. But God offers His children super powers that far surpass anything on screen. “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3). What does this power include? It includes love—“God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). It includes wisdom—“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). It includes peace—“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). These are not fictional powers. They are real and powerful gifts, given to us through Christ. A life rooted in God’s divine power, filled with love, wisdom, and peace—this is the true super powered life.
