Where’s the food?

The setting is perfect. Jagged peaks of the Dolomites rise into a bright blue sky, their reflection mirrored in a still alpine lake. We choose the spot for a picnic, sit down, and unzip the cooler. But there’s a problem, I have forgotten the food. In an instant, joy fades. The stunning view remains, but without food, something essential is missing. A meal does more than fill the stomach; it completes the moment. Jesus knew this. He used food to teach, to connect, and to remind us of His sacrifice (Luke 22:19–20). And ultimately, He offered Himself as the true meal that sustains. Life brings many beautiful experiences, but without real nourishment, they fade quickly. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry” (John 6:35). The beauty of creation points us toward the Creator, but it is only through Christ that we are filled. One day, all who come to Him will join the greatest feast of all, ultimate fulfillment. “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” (Revelation 19:9).
