We started a garden project involving outdoor furniture on a section of white stones. Beneath the stones, we placed black mesh to prevent weeds from growing through. However, weeds weren’t the problem—we soon realized we didn’t buy enough stones to fully cover the mesh, leaving large visible gaps that ruined the look. We returned to the store, bought double the amount, and spread the stones over the gaps, but it still wasn’t enough. As we covered one area, new gaps appeared, requiring another trip to the store. This experience made me appreciate the covering Christ offers us. No matter how hard we try to cover the blemishes of sin in our lives, new gaps always appear, creating a cycle we can’t escape. But when we give our lives to Him, Christ covers every gap, mark, and hint of sin completely—and the best part? He does it instantly. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
