Follow through

Follow through

Follow through. It seems like an easy concept, right? But how many times have you set yourself a goal and said, “Oh well, I got close enough” because you tried but didn’t quite achieve the full result? Millions of goals are set every day that are not finished. Sometimes, we even tell others how to do things in specific ways but don’t follow through with it ourselves. It could be something like, “You should read the Bible every day”, and then we let ourselves off because we read it every other day. Jesus had a life goal: to save everyone even though the cost would be his life. Nothing would divert him from his goal. “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). Likewise, let us strive to achieve the greatest goal of all in our lives. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). Do not let your plans die, especially the most excellent plan of all – to be in God’s eternal kingdom. This is the one time where follow-through has eternal consequences.
