We recently experienced very heavy rains for several days, which resulted in lots of flooding in our village. A flooding river changed course and caused lots of destruction. We prayed for God’s care. Just before we attempted to drive down our long gravel driveway, which had become a raging river reaching up to the doors of the car, I saw a beautiful rainbow over the mountains. This was confirmation to me of God’s presence even in these raging floods. Even though the water level was rising, I felt an incredible peace knowing all would be well. While some were in a state of panic and distress, we knew we could do nothing to stop the raging river. But we could go kayaking and tubing down our new driveway river. We couldn’t change the weather, but we could have peace in Him, who controls the weather. And so it is with all life’s circumstances. There are difficult circumstances in life we cannot change, but God understands our needs and is in control of the storms. He does not want you to be “anxious about anything but in every situation with prayer, petition and thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/phi4v6-7
