Going out with our mountain bikes to ride the trails around us is always fun. But like learning any new thing, it comes with knocks and falls – quite literally, in this case. One of the lessons quickly learned is how to navigate rocky trails. Coming down a steep rocky trail can be scary as your eyes lock onto the rocks that could cause you to fall. However, this is precisely the wrong thing to do. While it’s important to notice the rocks and dangers, you must focus on where you are heading, not what you want to avoid. Looking at the dangers changes your direction toward them! When Peter, in a show of incredible faith, stepped onto a stormy sea to walk to Jesus, he was fine. “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” (Matthew 14:30). Seeing the storm drew him into its scary depths. In our lives, there will be storms and rocks. There will be dangers and trials. It’s not the size of the storm that matters but the size of our Saviour. What makes the difference is what we look at. What we obsess with. “My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.” (Psalms 25:15). Today, choose to only have eyes for God. Choose to look at the Saviour and not the storm, and he will certainly bring you to your destination. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/psa25v15, http://bit.ly/mat14v30
