The Frozen Liquid Life

Here is a fact about glass that will surprise you: it is not technically a solid. It begins as sand, melts into liquid under extraordinary heat, and when it cools it never fully sets again. Scientists call it an amorphous solid – a frozen liquid whose molecules remain in constant, irregular motion. That restless quality is a picture of the life Jesus calls us to. He did not invite us into a rigid, stationary religion but into a living movement. The earliest believers were not called Christians first – they were called followers of The Way (Acts 9:2). It was a movement in the literal sense of the word. And Jesus himself declared, "I am the way and the truth and the life." (John 14:6). But this movement does something unique, just like glass – it lets the light in. Consider how remarkable glass is: it is a solid that is actually moving, made from an opaque substance yet perfectly transparent. This is exactly what Christians are called to be – those who let the true light, Jesus, shining into the darkness of homes and lives. "We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18).
