No two fingerprints have ever been identical, even among identical twins. Though twins share the same DNA, their prints differ because they're shaped not only by genetics but by tiny random forces in the womb. Ridges form around 10 weeks after conception and are largely complete by 17 weeks – after that, the overall pattern never changes.
